Role:- Fulfills a site technical equipment specialist consulting position supporting a large portion of a refinery or chemical plant
- Provide in depth technical leadership and support related to petrochemicals processing units/equipment with a focus on troubleshooting, asset improvement and technology selection.
Reports to: Main Tasks & Responsibilities:- Respond to plant operational events
- Analyze site equipment performance
- Drive site asset improvement in the areas of: Safety, Reliability, Environmental Performance and Equipment Capability
- Assist site in application of new technology
- Provide leadership via involvement (participation / facilitation) in formal technical networks / work groups
- Support capital and expense projects and provide leadership in the areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance and start-up assistance
- Implement and reinforce technical standards & guidelines
- Facilitate implementation of technology to Site operations in conjunction with Global and/or Engineering Office

Qualifications:- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Extensive pressure equipment engineering experience required - preferably with an operating company or major engineering contractor (petrochemical or other heavy industry experience strongly desired)
- Experience with all types of pressure equipment (vessels, heat exchangers, piping, valves, tanks, etc.) preferred
Technical Knowledge & Skills- In depth familiarity with petrochemical industry standards (ASME & API) associated with pressure equipment (vessels, heat exchangers, piping, valves, tanks, etc)
- Experienced in pressure equipment specification, design, fabrication and repair
- Experienced in installing and maintaining pressure equipment
- Experienced with application of Fitness for Service (FFS) methods
- Familiarity with materials selection, welding processes and NDE methods
- Experienced with pressure equipment design programs and familiar with analysis tools such as FEA and piping flexibility software for stress analysis
- Understanding of primary and secondary stresses and associated limits (e.g. ASME Section VIII Division 2, Part 5 Analysis Methods and Criteria)
