Basic Qualifications: Must have experience analyzing and interpreting financial/investment-related information.
Core Competencies: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business-related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Typically possesses three or more years experience in a finance-related position performing analyses. - Demonstrated experience managing trust investment such as pension funds, 401K, and/or nuclear decommissioning trusts. - Demonstrated knowledge of financial concepts, principles, and current events. . - Demonstrated experience interfacing and collaborating with clients, peers, management, and other work units. - Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects. - Demonstrated ability to take initiative on projects and exercise good judgment. - Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences. - Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions that have significant business impact under minimal supervision. - Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate financial information both orally and in writing. - Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. - Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation. - Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
Preferences: MBA with a Finance concentration and CFA or CFA candidate. Financial markets and institutional money management experience.
Typical Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work with the Treasurers Department Investments Division which is responsible for managing investments for the Company's pension fund, nuclear decommissioning trusts, post-retirement benefits other than pensions trusts, and investment options for the 401(k) plan. Typical responsibilities include: a key analysis role in managing investment programs; working with internal and external organizations to establish strategic trust investment policies; identifying and evaluating investment opportunities; evaluating external investment managers; managing investment portfolios; making recommendations and reporting results to senior management; preparing material for California Public Utilities Commission proceedings; performing various administrative duties; and performing other duties as assigned. Some travel will be required.
