The Opportunity
We’re looking for a self-motivated Outside Sales Representative to promote and sell Graybar’s electrical products to Government customers throughout South Carolina, in the Augusta and Savannah, Georgia areas (which includes Charleston Air Force Base, Ft. Stewart, SPAWAR, etc.) in compliance with Company pricing policies and instructions to achieve maximum gross margin rate. You will create quotations and manage customer pricing matrices for assigned accounts; handle customer complaints promptly and effectively; report potential claims; and perform other duties as assigned. This is a tremendous opportunity to earn a competitive base pay (plus incentive based on sales performance). We are looking for an individual who has the sales skills, the aptitude to learn and apply new skills/knowledge, and a sincere interest in a career - not just a job.
The Requirements Bachelor’s degree preferred along with two years’ industry-specific experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of federal and local government sales; possess an understanding of government contracts; be familiar with the FAR; have experience in navigating on military/federal installations; and have a solid understanding of electrical products and their application in order to make sales. In addition, one must have exceptional customer relations and communications skills; a strong desire to exceed customers’ expectations; computer skills; and be able to work independently as well as effectively with all levels of customers, management and employees. One must be an effective negotiator and have the ability to sell and be persuasive. A working knowledge of SAP is a plus as is prior experience in wholesale distribution. Professional appearance and demeanor is required. Enthusiasm for working with customers is a must!
