Phoenix House currently seeks a licensed Counselor to provide the primary counseling services to youth clients in treatment and their families. Duties related to this position may include:
- Perform primary counselor duties to clients and their families include but are not limited to psychosocial assessments; development of treatment plans; crisis intervention; group, individual, family and didactic sessions; discharge summary and planning; coordination of treatment services with probation, school and other referral sources. Multi-lingual counselors may be asked to conduct services in multiple languages to meet the needs of the clients and families.
- Provide client supervision.
- Attends and participates in shift change meetings, clinical reviews, staff meetings and other treatment team meetings in accordance with program needs.
- Promote and utilize the Therapeutic Community method and philosophy for adolescent substance abuse treatment.
- Responsible for timely and accurate completion of client charts, reports, and other documentation related to the treatment and progress of clients in the program.
Minimum Qualifications: - LCDC, LPC, LMSW/LCSW, LMFT, or intern/temporary counselor status recognized by Texas DSHS
- At least one year experience with counseling and adolescent services
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office products
- Good organization skills
- Therapeutic Community treatment modality or chemical dependency services experience is preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate in both Spanish and English
