This position is in the Recycling division of International Paper. We are one of the world's largest paper recyclers, handling more than 6 million tons of paper every year -- the equivalent of more than 120,000 railcars. We have recycling facilities throughout the United States. A majority of the recycled paper is used in our mills, with the balance sold domestically and worldwide.

The Procurement Account Manager is responsible for ethically and professionally representing International Paper in the recycling marketplace. This requires developing and fostering sound customer relationships based on total customer satisfaction. An Account Manager evaluates a customer's recycling needs and offers recommendations to fulfill those needs while striving to generate and maintain profitability to achieve unit objectives and business goals. Prospecting for new business with printers, distributors, and scrap paper producers is a primary function of this position.

Key Functions:
•Acts as a liaison between the customer and the plant to ensure a timely, accurate information flow between the two.
•Develops a clear understanding of customers' business and critical requirements through frequent visits to customers' facilities.
•Handles customer complaints promptly and effectively.
•Practices effective time and territory management.
•Understands and sells to the plant's capabilities using professional sales methods for acquiring new business.
•Functions effectively as a member of a sales team.
•Interfaces effectively with other departments and maintains open lines of communication with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
•Minimum two years successful direct outside sales experience.
•Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
•Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
•Demonstrated customer focus with the ability to listen, understand and analyze the needs of customers.
•Ability to recognize changes in market conditions and adapt marketing strategies accordingly.
•Strong people skills, with the ability to work with a variety of personalities from diverse backgrounds.
•Working knowledge of personal computer applications (Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:
•Four year college degree in business with emphasis in marketing
•Familiarity with the pulp and paper industry
•Sales and/or marketing experience in wastepaper recycling
•Familiarity with the area and local market structure
