We are looking for CDL Class A Drivers for our Egg Harbor City, NJ location. UFCW Local 152 starting rate is $17.35/hr, with an increase to $18.35 after working 90 calendar days. SUMMARY Drives a diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver a full line of food and supplies to restaurants and commercial and institutional cafeterias. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to read and interpret instructions, ability to lift weights 30-40 pounds frequently and 41-100 pounds occasionally. Ability to walk, stand, reach, and squat. Employee must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) perform work activities that may require negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others; and (c) respond appropriately to constructive criticism from a supervisor. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Delivering customer products courteously, safety, accurately, productively and in a timely fashion •Identifies the order to be delivered and transports the order to the designated storage area or kitchen by using a pallet jack for full pallets or loading smaller loads onto a hand truck. •Counts the cases delivered and compare the pick label to the invoice to ensure the delivery is complete. •Responsible for keeping a copy of daily Tripmaster log according to I.C.C. regulations. •Inspects the truck for defects before and after trips and submits a report indicating truck condition or need for repair. •All other duty as assigned PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
