JOB SUMMARY: NO WALK IN APPLICANTS Must reference job ref code. Drives truck to transport employees, materials, products, or equipment to and from specified destinations in accordance with applicable safety regulations and PSC policies, practices and procedures. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Drives truck to destination and may assist in assembling and loading project supplies, equipment, product, or waste/fill materials. • Prepares receipts for load picked up. • Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations. Is required to be familiar with shipping papers and be able to determine that they are completed properly. • Complete company paperwork properly and timely (timesheets, daily logs, pre-trip and post-trip inspection forms etc.) • Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. • Loads and unloads truck. • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. • Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs. • Utilizes standard health and safety procedures and techniques in performing duties. • Becomes familiar with and follows rules established for operating on a hazardous waste site. • Performs duties according to department's standard operating procedures • Secures loaded materials for transportation. Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit. • Performs other duties as assigned. MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE: • No accidents • No injuries • No incidents • On time deliveries and pick ups • Cleanliness of vehicle • Timely and accurate manifests • Timely and accurate log books • Excellent customer service relating to on time and communicated issues to be resolved. EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS: • High school diploma or equivalent • Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsements (X endorsement) JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE: • 2 or more years driving experience • 1 – 3 years hands-on experience handling hazardous waste DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • DOT and EPA laws related to the transportation, handling, packaging, labeling and marking of hazardous waste shipments. • 24 Hour OSHA training. • Punctual, Customer focused • Ability to read and write • Ability to operate multiple trailer types efficiently, Vans, Tankers, Roll Offs, Dumps. • Ability to operate hydraulic systems for loading and unloading WORKING CONDITIONS: • Truck and outdoor environment |
